MOMMY ADVICE

STARTING ANEW.

Yes, I am starting fresh.

Fresh from being a working Mommy to a full-time Mommy. This is one of the biggest steps I took since I got married in 2010. Actually it was a mutual decision between me and my hubby. I had to stay home since our house help went on vacation for a month last May 23. It is a month vacation and since we both don't want to get another person to take care of the house and the baby, I step up and said, "I will do it." It is a big sacrifice. Sacrifice from a lot of things. One, the work I had to give up. Though the pay was not that much, I still enjoyed my work and the pay still helps to pay for the everyday expense. Two, the freedom - for a lot of stuff. well, I decided to let go of that freedom since the day I had my child so what the heck! lol!

So, everything would be like my first day to school or my first day to my first job since  graduated from college.. It is so exciting knowing I can be with my baby - the entire time! I had wanted this ever since and for it coming through is so much more. Since I do not have house help, I would do everything around the house. Start from cleaning, cooking, feeding the baby, bathing the baby, feeding the dog, washing..everything! lol! its so perfect!!

LIFE IN THE EYES OF A BABY.

Xavier Paul or "XP" as we fondly called him, is now learning to stand on his own. We let him alone on his crib so that he will be able to learn how to stand using his legs to support himself. He is not really fond of staying on his crib and prefers to stay on his walker. But the problem with his walker is that, he is just sliding himself instead of learning to stand. So, my hubby and I decided to put him in his wooden crib. At first, he would be hesitant to stay on his crib and when you leave him there, he would start to cry and do his "paawa" look. He always gets me that trick of his. But I know I had to be strong from his charms. He has to stay on his crib to learn to walk and stand on his own.

On the first day we put him there, he don't know how to move about and would only stay at one side of the crib. He would continuously fall every time he tries to stand and cry. On his second day, I tried placing some of his toys on the sides of the crib. Once he sees his toys, he gets excited. And so, by getting excited to get his hands on his toys, he tried reaching for his toys seating then he cried. Second attempt failed! He was not successful. On the third day, he got up on his knees, holding on the sides of the crib and he stand up on his own! I am so proud of him. But wait there's more! After standing up, he tried to reach for his toys, but he was not able to reach for them. I placed the toys far from his position so he had to walk towards the toys to get it. Before we knew it, he was moving around ( in counterclockwise direction) on his crib, screaming and shouting as if saying, " Mama, look at me..look at me!" Kakatuwa!

With that said, what did I learned from my baby? Well, one, I learned that in life, you are subject to trial and errors and stumbling or making mistakes is okay. Mistakes make us go stronger and mature.

Two, I learned that in order to succeed in life, you must have a certain goal in your life. Just like my baby. He was able to succeed in standing on his own because he had a certain goal - to get his toy and chew it. He had no other reason. He just wanted to get his toy. He was determined and focused.

Three, in order to get your goal in life, you must take action to fulfill your goal. No second thoughts. Just act upon steps in order to get your goal.

Lastly, in any undertaking, you will be subject into two things, success or failure. It is up to you on how you will handle either situations. Its either your answer is " I surrender" or you move forward and fight! Just like the saying goes - Try and try until you succeed.
